Alex Perez Replaces Manel Kape, Faces Matheus Nicolau at UFC on ESPN 55

Oh, snap! Manuel Kape’s outta the game. Guess what? Alex Perez is stepping in to shake things up. He’s facing off against Matheus Nicolau. And yep, you guessed it, this showdown’s the new hotness for #UFCVegas91. 🔥 Check out the deets right here: [pic link].

So, the UFC dropped some news on us this Tuesday. April 27th’s got a fresh main event. It’s all going down at the UFC Apex in Vegas, baby. Alex Perez is jumping in for Manel Kape. No word on why Kape’s stepping aside, though. Perez was all set to tangle with Tagir Ulanbekov come June 15. But hey, plans change.

Alex Perez, that dude who once had his eyes on the flyweight crown, hasn’t had the best luck lately. Dropped his last three fights, tough break. Last time we saw him, Muhammad Mokaev handed him a loss at UFC Fight Night 238. Still, he’s got a record that speaks to his grit: 6-4 in the UFC.

On the flip side, Matheus Nicolau was riding high on a six-fight win streak. That is, until Brandon Royval showed up and ended the party with a KO. Remember Nicolau’s split-decision win over Kape back in March 2021? Yeah, that was something.

Kape and Nicolau were supposed to run it back this January. But, you know, the scale had other plans. Kape missed weight, and the fight got axed. “Starboy” has had his share of ups and downs in the UFC, not all his fault though.

So, there you have it. The MMA world keeps spinning, fights get made and unmade. But one thing’s for sure, #UFCVegas91 is gonna be lit. 🌟
