Conor McGregor Declined Several Hollywood Roles

McGregor Vs Gylenhaal! Oh boy, it’s happening. “Roadhouse” is dropping on March 21st, folks. You heard it right. And yeah, you can catch all the action over at @mgmstudios and @PrimeVideo. Don’t miss out, alright? Here’s a sneak peek for ya: pic.twitter.com/gRzgbcpklG. That tweet? Straight from Conor McGregor himself, dated February 27, 2024.

Now, let’s dive into the juicy bits. Conor McGregor, that MMA powerhouse, is finally hitting the big screen this March. And guess what? He’s been dodging movie roles left, right, and center for years. Yeah, you heard me. The dude’s been picky.

He’s teaming up with Jake Gyllenhaal in the “Roadhouse” remake. It’s all set to premiere on Prime Video come March 21. McGregor’s playing Knox. His mission? To take down Gyllenhaal’s character, Dalton. Talk about intense.

In a chat with Total Film, McGregor spilled the beans. Turns out, accepting a movie role wasn’t a walk in the park for him. He’s probably ruffled a few feathers along the way, turning down “beautiful directors” and top-notch movies. McGregor’s words, not mine. He admits to leaving folks “a little high and dry.” Ouch.

But hey, McGregor’s fighting career always came first. Yet, he managed to squeeze in filming for “Roadhouse” while recovering from a broken leg. Happened during UFC 264 back in July 2021. Acting? Not his first love. But he was all in, soaking up the experience.

“I was just in awe of it all,” McGregor confessed. Acting was a whole new world for him. But he’s a fighter through and through. Not an actor, per se. But definitely show business material. And guess what? He loved every second of it.

As for McGregor’s return to the Octagon? Still a big question mark. After coaching against Michael Chandler on “The Ultimate Fighter 31” last year, everyone’s on edge. Dana White hinted at a fall comeback. But hey, nothing’s set in stone yet.
