Conor McGregor Frustrated with Recent Inactivity Stretch

Conor McGregor is getting antsy. The time off from fighting is starting to bug him.

He vented about his lack of activity in an interview with Talk Sport Boxing over the weekend. McGregor had a coaching stint opposite Michael Chandler on Season 31 of “The Ultimate Fighter” earlier this year. Yet, there’s no date announced for their fight.

“Give me something,” McGregor pleaded. He mentioned that a fight was supposed to happen in April, and even before that, in December. He feels mistreated. “No one has ever been treated [like this] for all the figures I’ve brought in this game,” he said.

McGregor is a big deal in the fight game. He claims to sell more and see more than all other fighters combined. But he feels he’s been treated unfairly. “No one in the history of the fight game has ever been treated the way I’m getting treated,” he lamented.

He’s been waiting. And waiting. And his patience is wearing thin.

Audie Attar, McGregor’s manager, revealed that they’re pushing hard for the Irish star to be on the UFC 300 card set for April 13. The promotion has only recently started announcing bouts for the milestone event.

McGregor is desperate to get back in the Octagon. If he can’t, he’s considering a potential boxing clash against Manny Pacquiao. “Get me back in there. It’s f—ing bollocks,” McGregor said. He feels he still has a lot to offer.

He’s heard talks about a fight with Manny in Saudi. But he doesn’t care. “They’re talking Manny here in Saudi. The lads in the UFC aren’t really talking any. So the lads here are talking Manny, and the UFC aren’t talking any,” he said.

It’s been a while since McGregor last competed. He broke his leg in a loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021.
