Dariush vs. Tsarukyan & Green vs. Hooker Slated for Five Rounds at UFC Austin

UFC Austin will feature a unique double main event as announced by UFC CEO, Dana White, late Monday night. A lightweight clash between Beneil Dariush and Arman Tsarukyan will serve as the main event for the December 2 card. Additionally, Bobby Green and Dan Hooker will square off in another five-round, 155-pound pairing in the evening’s co-headliner. UFC Fight Night will take place at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas.

The Dec. 2 event also includes a thrilling bantamweight showdown. Rob Font will face off against ex-flyweight king Deiveson Figueiredo while welterweights Sean Brady and Kelvin Gastelum will also share the ring. These headline-earning fights set the stage for an evening of dynamic UFC matchups, drawing anticipation from fans across the globe.

On the cusp of a title shot after an eight-fight winning streak, Beneil Dariush suffered a first-round TKO defeat against Charles Oliveira at UFC 289 during his most recent outing on June 10. Despite this setback, Dariush has compiled an impressive resume of victories over Mateusz Gamrot, Tony Ferguson, Drew Dober, Thiago Moises, Jim Miller and Michael Johnson. Arman Tsarukyan, on the other hand, boasts seven victories out of nine promotional appearances, with only two defeats against Gamrot and reigning lightweight champ Islam Makhachev. He has also successfully rebounded to post back-to-back triumphs against Damir Ismagulov and Joaquim Silva.

Veteran Bobby Green impressed viewers by knocking out rising lightweight Grant Dawson in just 33 seconds at UFC Fight Night 229 on Oct. 7. Green’s 2023 campaign includes a third-round submission of Ferguson and a no contest against Jared Gordon. Co-headliner Dan Hooker, colloquially known as the “Hangman”, has bounced back from a rough patch to score consecutive victories over Claudio Puelles and Jalin Turner. The City Kickboxing standout has defeated notable figures such as Nasrat Haqparast, Paul Felder, Al Iaquinta, and Gilbert Burns during his tenure.
