Fares Ziam Challenges Dan Hooker for Striking Match Following UFC Mexico Victory

Fares Ziam just threw down the gauntlet. After a tough win against Claudio Puelles, he’s eyeing Dan Hooker for a striking showdown. The fight was at UFC Mexico, and boy, was it a nail-biter.

Ziam had his moments of struggle, especially against Puelles’ wrestling. But, the French fighter showed some slick moves. He managed to escape the grappling and took control with his striking. It was close, but he clinched a split-decision victory. Now, he’s on a three-win streak and hungry for more.

“Smile Killer” is feeling confident. He believes he’s ready for the Top 15. “I think I have the level of Top 15. Claudio fought with Dan Hooker last time, I want to fight Dan Hooker,” Ziam spilled in a post-fight chat. He’s itching for a fight that’s more about striking than wrestling. “He’s a striker and it’s gonna be [a] striking match. Not like that — grappling, grappling, grappling.”

Ziam’s got a point to prove. He knows his wrestling needs work but is determined to improve. “I don’t have good reaction in the wrestling, but I’m gonna work very hard. I learn with the win, so it’s good,” he admitted. It’s all about learning and getting better for him.

Hooker’s no easy target, though. He’s coming off a win against Jalin Turner at UFC 290, right after knocking out Puelles at UFC 281. Meanwhile, Ziam’s been making waves in Las Vegas, winning five of his last six fights.

So, what’s next? Will Hooker accept Ziam’s challenge? It’s all up in the air, but one thing’s for sure: it’s gonna be an electrifying match if it happens. Stay tuned, folks. This could get interesting.
