February’s UFC Fight Night 236, UFC 298 Adjust Preliminary Cards

Oh boy, here we go again. The Ultimate Fighting Championship, or UFC as we all know it, just can’t catch a break these days.

Advertisement? Nah, let’s skip that.

So, UFC Fight Night 236 is right around the corner. It’s happening at the Apex facility on Feb. 10. But guess what? It’s already down three fights. And we’re talking 24 hours here, folks.

Now, here’s the scoop. Damir Hadzovic, hailing all the way from Bosnia, was all set to throw down with Bolaji Oki, a newcomer from Belgium. But, nope. Visa issues. Classic, right? So, who’s stepping in? Timothy Cuamba, fresh off Dana White’s Contender Series 2023. This guy, “Twilight Timmy,” is on a hot streak with five wins, including a flashy stoppage at Tuff N Uff just last week. Oki, on the flip side, hasn’t tasted defeat since his pro debut back in 2018.

Switching gears, we’ve got a bit of a bummer in the middleweight division. Tresean Gore, a promising prospect, had to bow out of his clash with A.J. Dobson. They were supposed to light up the prelims at UFC 298 on Feb. 17 in Anaheim. But, a shoulder injury threw a wrench in those plans. Dobson’s out there, hinting at some fight news coming our way, but nothing’s solid yet.

Gore took to Instagram, and man, you could feel his heartbreak. “Gutted posting this,” he says. He wanted to push through, but his coach, being the sensible one, insisted on an MRI. Turns out fighting with one arm isn’t the best idea. Who knew? Gore’s keeping the faith, though. He’s talking about God’s timing and not letting injuries derail his dreams of becoming pound-for-pound the best.

Life in the UFC, huh? It’s never dull.
