Joe Pyfer, Jack Hermansson to Feature in UFC Fight Night on Feb. 10

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has announced a thrilling event: the Joe Pyfer, a middleweight fighter from the company, will fight in the main event against Jack Hermansson. Although Pyfer is yet to be ranked, his record stands at an impressive 12-2. The fight against Hermansson, currently ranked 15th, is scheduled for February 10. The event will take place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The UFC unveiled this news on Thursday, much to the anticipation of the fans.

Ever since Pyfer got his second chance on Dana White’s Contender Series, he hasn’t disappointed. He has been on a roll, winning three consecutive fights in the Octagon. He introduced himself to the UFC by defeating Alen Amedovski, finishing the fight in under four minutes. His return to the cage six months post his debut saw him take down Gerald Meerschaert, earning his third win against Abdul Razak Alhassan with an arm-triangle choke in October. Interestingly, Pyfer has only gone the full distance once, during his second bout with Derek Wilson.

On the other hand, Hermansson experienced an inactive 2023, due to an undisclosed injury that led to a cancelled match with Brendan Allen in April. When last seen in action, Hermansson was fighting Roman Dolidze, a bout he lost to the Georgian. The Swede’s last eight matches have been a series of wins and losses, including victories against Chris Curtis and Ronaldo Souza, but defeats at the hands of top contenders like Sean Strickland, Jared Cannonier, and Marvin Vettori.

This yet-to-be-named UFC event at the Apex on February 10 will feature Hermansson versus Pyfer as the headlining match. Other notable fights include a middleweight clash between Gregory Rodrigues and Brad Tavares, a lightweight contest between Michael Johnson and Darrius Flowers, and a match of Trevin Giles versus Carlos Prates at 170 pounds.
