Marcin Tybura Willing to Reschedule Fight with Jairzinho Rozenstruik to ‘Make It Right’

Marcin Tybura’s still open to throwing down with Jairzinho Rozenstruik. This comes right after he choked out Tai Tuivasa at UFC Fight Night 239. Oh, and by the way, Tybura headlined against “Bam Bam.” It was quite the show at the UFC Apex, marking his fourth win there.

Tybura kept his cool, snagging a win with a rear-naked choke. That was after he unloaded a storm of punches on Tuivasa. Post-fight, Tybura was all praises for Tuivasa’s grit. “For sure, the toughness,” he said. He was baffled by how Tuivasa shrugged off his heavy hits. “But I knew he’s very tough. I knew he’d be there till the end, till I make him quit.”

Right after the fight, Rozenstruik was quick to call Tybura out. They were supposed to face off in February 2022 at a UFC Fight Night. But plans changed, and the fight was pushed to UFC 273 in April 2022. Tybura had to bail last minute due to illness, even though he made weight.

Rozenstruik didn’t miss a beat to congratulate Tybura on Twitter. “Congratulations @MarcinTybura! I see you! 👀 #UFCVegas88,” he tweeted on March 17, 2024.

Tybura, aiming for higher ranks, won’t dodge a fight the UFC throws at him. He feels a bit indebted to Rozenstruik, given their history. “I kind of feel like I’ve always been the fighter who never rejects the fights … If UFC wants to do it I’ll agree. But no, I’d rather have someone high ranking,” Tybura admitted. He believes their fight would mirror his recent victory but acknowledges he owes Rozenstruik a fight due to their past scheduling snafus.

After a knockout loss to Tom Aspinall, Tybura’s victory over Tuivasa has him sitting pretty with a 3-1 record in his last four fights. Rozenstruik, on the other hand, is fresh off a stoppage win over Shamil Gaziev at UFC Fight Night 238 earlier this month.
