Ode Osbourne-Jafel Filho Flyweight Match Scheduled for March 16 UFC Fight Night

So, there’s this flyweight showdown on the horizon. It’s between former Dana White’s Contender Series competitors, Ode Osbourne and Jafel Filho. They’re slated to clash at a UFC Fight Night event on March 16.

The announcement came from an unexpected source. Filho’s management, Iridium Sports Agency, spilled the beans in a social media post on Friday. The venue? The UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

Osbourne’s track record in the promotion is a mixed bag, sitting at 4-4. He’s had his fair share of triumphs and tribulations inside the Octagon. This guy hails from Wisconsin, and his last fight didn’t exactly go as planned.

He suffered a Round 2 rear-naked choke submission loss to Kazakhstan’s Asu Almabaev in August. But hey, before that, he did manage to pull off a split-decision victory against Charles Johnson at UFC Fight Night 220 in February. So, he’s got some fight in him.

On the other side of the ring, we’ve got Filho. His most recent victory was a Round 1 arm-triangle submission win against Daniel Barez at UFC Fight Night 224 in July. But his journey hasn’t been all smooth sailing either.

He faced off against the rising flyweight contender, Muhammad Mokaev, in his promotional debut. Despite losing the bout due to a Round 3 submission, Filho, aka “Pastor,” had his moments. He nearly submitted the undefeated Mokaev before succumbing to a neck-crank submission attempt in the third frame.

Before his debut loss to Mokaev, Filho was riding high on a five-fight winning streak. So, this upcoming fight? It’s gonna be one to watch.
