Steve Garcia to Fight Melquizael Costa at UFC Night in Austin, Dec. 2

Recent updates from Iridium Sports Agency reveal that one of their members, known as MeanMachine505, is aspiring for his 3rd consecutive victory through a stoppage against Melquizael Costa. The match is scheduled for December 2 on team Iridium’s playing grounds. This news was shared on October 8, 2023, via a Twitter post on the agency’s official Twitter handle.

The contest is part of the lineup for the upcoming UFC Austin event. Steve Garcia, also known as “Mean Machine”, has an impressive record (14-5) as he prepares to compete against Melquizael Costa (20-6) in UFC’s return to Texas on Dec. 2. After an initial rocky start in UFC with one win and two losses, Garcia seems to have gained momentum, boasting knockout victories over Chase Hooper and Nuerdanbieke Shayilan. This winning streak is expected to give the “Mean Machine” an edge in his upcoming match.

Melquizael Costa, also recognized as “Melk” and “Kaut”, had his promotional debut against Thiago Moises at UFC 283 in January. Despite suffering a submission loss in this initial match, the young Brazilian displayed resilience by bouncing back with a dominant decision victory against Austin Lingo at UFC on ESPN 49 on July 15. Meanwhile, UFC’s upcoming event in Austin, Texas, will be held at Moody Center on December 4. The main event is anticipated to be a showdown between former middleweight title challenger Jared Cannonier and emerging contender Roman Dolidze, a matchup with potential immediate title implications.
