The deep statistical insights dive into the numbers behind each fight, offering historical context and telling the story behind the figures. As of now, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has hosted a total of 671 events comprising 7,430 fights.

Almost as many fights as the Apex could accommodate were packed into a midday card before taking a break. The night started slowly but gained momentum, racing towards the finish line with a record number of specific chokes throughout the event and several contenders emerging in their weight classes. The UFC Fight Night 232 was particularly notable, displaying repeated grappler-on-grappler violence, a puncher showcasing jiu-jitsu skills, and a triumphant woman proving she can hold her own against the male fighters.

Throughout the evening, the record for single-event rear-naked chokes was equaled by four fighters, a feat previously achieved at the Ultimate Fighter Season 6 Finale, UFC on FX 1, and UFC on Fuel 2. Brendan Allen pulled off a woeful stranglehold on Paul Craig in the final round of the night’s main fight, marking Allen’s sixth rear-naked choke victory in the Octagon. Allen’s record ties him with Charles Oliveira and Renato Carneiro for the third-highest number of such victories in company history. Only Kenny Florian (seven) and Demian Maia (eight) have more such wins. On achieving his sixth submission as a UFC middleweight, Allen forced Craig to throw in the towel, putting him in sole second place for the most submissions in the division, just behind Gerald Meerschaert’s nine.

Securing his victory, Allen boosted his professional finish rate to 83%. His current streak of six straight victories includes five stoppages. The night also witnessed 23-year-old Michael Morales outstrike Jake Matthews over three rounds, bringing his pro record to 16-0. As a result, Morales’ stoppage rate dropped to a solid 75%. Amanda Ribas staked her claim in UFC history books by becoming the first female fighter to score a victory with a spinning wheel kick. Ribas’ triumph over Luana Pinheiro came in the latter part of their bout. This win marked Ribas’ first knockout victory since 2016 and secured her UFC ticket.
