N.Ruziboev has dropped out of an upcoming fight, with Caio Borralho now set to face off against Abus Magomedov. The change was reported by MMAFighting and confirmed via a tweet. The fight is scheduled for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) event taking place in Sao Paulo on November 4. This event will be the UFC’s first visit to Sao Paulo in four years.
Caio Borralho, also known as “The Natural”, boasts a track record of 14-1. Originally, he was slated to face Nursultan Ruziboev at UFC Fight Night 231, also on November 4. However, Ruziboev unexpectedly withdrew from the matchup for unknown reasons. Consequently, Borralho will now confront former Professional Fighters League standout, Abusupiyan Magomedov. Borralho, yet to be defeated in his four UFC appearances, achieved a submission victory over Michal Oleksiejczuk in his most recent Octagon encounter on April 29. Having not competed in his home country for nearly three years, the 30-year-old Brazilian is eager to impress his local fans when he takes on Magomedov.
Magomedov, holding a record of 25-5, made quite the impression in his UFC debut last year. He managed to knock out Dustin Stoltzfus in only 19 seconds, earning a “Performance of The Night” bonus. After this impressive debut, he was pitted against the current UFC champion, Sean Strickland, who handed him a second-round knockout loss. UFC Fight Night 231, otherwise known as “UFC Sao Paulo”, is set to occur at the Ibirapuera Gymnasium in Sao Paulo. While the lineup remains subject to change, the headline event is supposed to feature an encounter between former heavyweight title contender Curtis Blaydes and up-and-coming Brazilian Jailton Almeida. Almeida has a flawless 5-0 UFC record, with all victories being first or second-round knockouts. He has smoothly transitioned from light heavyweight to heavyweight.
