Caio Borralho has been confirmed as a participant in the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s first return to Sao Paulo in four years. Commonly known as “The Natural,” Borralho, who boasts a record of 14-1, was originally slated to fight against Nursulton Ruziboev, who carries a score of 35-8. However, recent updates from MMA Fighting elucidate that Ruziboev has detach himself from the match due to undisclosed reasons. Ruziboev’s replacement has been confirmed to be former standout of the Professional Fighters League, Abusupiyan Magomedov.
Borralho has notched impressive wins in his past four UFC outings, having claimed a submission win over Michal Oleksiejczuk during his latest endeavour to the Octagon on April 29. The Brazilian fighter, aged 30, hasn’t fought in his homeland in close to three years. He is anticipatedly looking forward to make an impression amongst his home fans when he collides with Magomedov.
The rival, Magomedov, who boasts a record of 25-5, made a significant mark in his UFC debut last year. He won a “Performance of the Night” bonus after clearing Dustin Stoltzfus off the board in merely 19 seconds. This triumph was short-lived when he was challenged by the now-UFC champion Sean Strickland, who handed him a second-round KO loss.
“UFC Fight Night 231,” also deemed as “UFC Sao Paulo,” is set to occur on the 4th of November at Sao Paulo’s Ibirapuera Gymnasium. As of now, the sequence of the fights is yet to be confirmed, but the event is anticipated to be headlined by a face-off between former heavyweight title challenger, Curtis Blaydes, and Jailton Almeida. Almeida is a formidable Brazilian fighter, known for his flawless 5-0 UFC record, consisting of all first or second-round finishes and his seamless transition from light heavyweight to heavyweight.
