Bobby Green, a well-known name in the fighting arena, had nothing but good things to say about Jalin Turner. This came after their co-main event bout at UFC on ESPN 52.
Turner, who was a last-minute substitute for Dan Hooker, managed to knock out Green. This happened 2:49 into the first round of their lightweight clash. The venue was the Moody Center in Austin, Texas, and it all went down on a Saturday night.
The defeat ended Green’s two-bout winning streak. He had previously managed back-to-back finishes of Tony Ferguson and Grant Dawson.
During the fight, Green seemed to take more hits than necessary before referee Kerry Hatley stepped in. However, Green, also known as “King,” didn’t mention the stoppage in a post-fight statement on his Instagram stories.
He started off with a casual “What up, guys?” He then went on to say, “You win some, you lose some. I guess I want to show people that you’ve got to keep it G and you’ve got to keep it G when you lose.”
He then gave a shout-out to Jalin, saying, “You did your thing, brother. I’m so happy for you. It means the world that you stepped up on short notice and you had your success, so shout out to you.”
Green didn’t seem too fazed by the loss. He told his followers, “To all my people, it’s just another step in the thing, you know. Another step in the career. There’s ups, there’s downs, I’m a keep it going. I’m not going nowhere. Love you, guys.”
Turner’s victory over Green ended his two-bout losing streak. It also improved his overall UFC record to 7-4.
