Brandon Moreno vs Amir Albazi in UFC Fight Night Co-Main Event on Feb. 24

Heads up, fight fans! Former flyweight champion Brandon Moreno is set to square off against top contender Amir Albazi. This high-stakes bout is slated as the co-main event of an Ultimate Fighting Championship card on Feb. 24.

Now, this isn’t just any fight. It’s a clash of titans. A showdown of epic proportions. And it’s happening soon.

The news first broke on ESPN Deportes. Since then, multiple outlets have confirmed the 125-pound pairing. As for the venue, the UFC Fight Night event is expected to mark the promotion’s return to Mexico City. However, the exact location is yet to be announced.

The Moreno vs. Albazi fight is set to be a five-round thriller. Yup, that’s right. Five whole rounds of adrenaline-pumping, fist-flying action.

Moreno’s second reign as flyweight king ended at UFC 290. He lost a split-decision to Alexandre Pantoja on July 8. But let’s not forget, Moreno is a seasoned fighter. He’s faced Deiveson Figueiredo four times in championship bouts from December 2020 to January 2023. His record against the Brazilian? A solid 2-1-1.

Moreno’s victories aren’t limited to Figueiredo, though. He’s triumphed over the likes of Kai Kara France (twice), Brandon Royval, Jussier Formiga, and Dustin Ortiz.

As for Albazi, he’s no pushover. “The Prince” is riding a six-fight winning streak into the matchup with Moreno. His most significant victory to date came on UFC on ESPN 46 in June. He took a split verdict over Kara France in the evening’s main event.

In total, Albazi has been victorious in 17 of 18 professional appearances. So, this fight is shaping up to be one for the books. Can’t wait to see how it all unfolds!
