Cody Brundage, a competitive fighter, is set to make one more Octagon appearance by the year-end. Brundage (9-5) has been scheduled to face undefeated promotional debutant Zachary Reese (6-0) in a middleweight contest at the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s forthcoming fight event in Austin, Texas on December 2. This information was initially reported by Damon Martin, an MMA Fighting correspondent. Marking his fourth combat of 2023, the 29-year-old Factory X product, Brundage is looking to even up his annual record after consecutive losses to Rodolfo Vieira and Sedriques Dumas in April and June, followed by a disqualification victory against Jacob Malkoun at UFC Fight Night 228.
Brundage joined UFC in September 2021, a year after a failed stint on Dana White’s Contender Series, and has a current UFC record of 3-4. His rival, Reese, secured his UFC contract via a first-round submission win over Eli Aronov at the Contender Series in August. Interestingly, Reese, who is also 29 years old and hails from Houston, has never experienced the second round of a fight in his six professional appearance so far.
The last domestic, non pay-per-view UFC event of 2023 is slated to take place at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas on December 2. Although no main event announcement has been made, the card is already host to a high-stakes lightweight match between Beneil Dariush and Arman Tsarukyan, and bantamweight match featuring former flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo against longtime hopeful Rob Font.
