Conor McGregor’s Manager Reveals Potential Fight with Michael Chandler at UFC 300

Conor McGregor’s manager, Audie Attar, has shared some news. They’re pushing for the Irishman’s return to UFC 300 in April 2024.

McGregor, with a 22-6 record, has been out of the game since July 2021. He’s been recovering from a broken leg. That injury happened during a trilogy clash against Dustin Poirier.

Attar gave some insight into the team’s efforts. They’re doing their best to make McGregor’s return at UFC 300 a reality. If it were up to McGregor, he’d be back in the Octagon next weekend.

Attar explained, “If it was up to him, he’d be fighting Saturday.” The team, however, is focused on following all the standard operating procedures. Their goal? Get McGregor back in the octagon as soon as possible. Attar revealed this during an interview with MMA Junkie at the World MMA Awards.

McGregor had a stint as a rival coach opposite Michael Chandler on “The Ultimate Fighter 31” earlier this year. There were talks of a clash between the two in the future. However, McGregor has downplayed the possibility of this matchup on several occasions. Instead, he’s been calling out a horde of other potential opponents.

But wait, there’s a twist. Attar now claims that Chandler remains the most likely matchup for McGregor. Why? The UFC is insistent on the matchup.

Attar said, “Look, I think that’s the likeliest opponent. They just did ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ together, and I think the fans want to see that fight.” He added that there are other opponents as well. However, unless something changes, it seems like Michael Chandler is the one to beat.
