Dana White Talks About Bond with Parents After Their Deaths

Ultimate Fighting Championship CEO Dana White has recently opened up about the shocking news of his parents’ deaths during an appearance on “Piers Morgan Uncensored.” In the interview, White discussed his strained relationship with his parents, how it shaped him as a person, and the impact their deaths had on him. He also agreed with the assertion that his difficult relationship with his parents motivated him to work hard and succeed in life.

White’s Upbringing and Relationship with Parents

However, the 54-year-old was quick to note that he wouldn’t change anything about his upbringing, as it taught him valuable lessons about parenthood. Growing up, White’s father was mostly absent from his life, and he was raised by a single mother. His relationship with his mother also deteriorated when she decided to write a book about him in 2011.

White’s Parents’ Deaths and His Reaction

As the interview progressed, White calmly revealed that both of his parents had passed away recently. “I don’t think I’ve ever talked about this, but my parents both died recently,” White stated. “So, yeah, that’s, yeah, I don’t like talking about it, but yeah, my parents died recently… I’m good with it, I focus a lot on my kids and my relationship with them, and I’ve sort of put my relationship with my parents behind me.”

When asked about his emotions upon learning the news of their passing, White’s response was surprising. “No. Well, I didn’t wish any ill will on either one of my parents, but when they passed away, I had…almost no feelings about it, to be honest with you,” the UFC head concluded. With this revelation, it seems that White has chosen to focus on his own family and continue moving forward.
