Got some news for ya. Russian bantamweight Dariya Zheleznyakova is all set for her UFC debut on March 23rd. She’s going up against Montserrat Rendón.
Originally, Rendón was supposed to fight Nora Cornolle. But, Cornolle’s out of the game due to some medical issues. This juicy bit of news comes via ESPN Deportes.
Now, let’s talk about the fighters. Zheleznyakova is entering the UFC with an 8-1 record. She’s coming off a Round 1 technical knockout victory against Marie Loiseau. This was under the Ares Fighting Championship banner in April.
Out of her eight victories as a pro, the Russian has secured five by way of TKO. Impressive, huh?
On the other side of the ring, we’ve got Rendon. She’s undefeated in six professional outings. Her latest win was a split-decision victory against Tamires Vidal at UFC Fight Night 228.
All of Rendon’s professional mixed martial arts wins have come by way of decision. So, this should be an interesting match-up.
The fight was initially slated to include Nora Cornelle. However, the French national had to withdraw due to a medical issue.
So, mark your calendars. March 23rd is the date. The event will take place at UFC Apex in Las Vegas. It’s gonna be a night to remember.
Oh, and did I mention this was first reported by Carlos Contreras Legaspi from ESPN Deportes? Yeah, the guy’s got the inside scoop.
