Davey Grant, Cody Gibson Among New Additions to March 23 UFC Fight Night

Alright, folks, we’ve got some news on the fighting front. A bantamweight clash is on the horizon. Davey Grant is set to square off against Cody Gibson. This is one of the latest additions to the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s March 23 offering.

The booking was confirmed by Grant’s management, Iridium Sports Agency. But that’s not all. They’ve also announced two featherweight bouts. Julian Erosa will be going toe-to-toe with Ricardo Ramos. And Fernando Padilla is set to battle it out with Luis Pajuelo.

The UFC Fight Night is expected to take place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. However, the headliner for the event is still under wraps.

Grant’s last outing didn’t go as planned. He had a two-bout winning streak snapped when he lost a split decision to Daniel Marcos at UFC Fight Night 224 this past July. The 38-year-old Englishman has had a mixed record since beginning his promotional tenure in November 2013, standing at 6-6.

On the other hand, Gibson’s second Octagon stint kicked off at UFC 292. Unfortunately, he suffered a unanimous decision loss to Brad Katona on Aug. 19. “The Renegade” previously had a 1-3 record in UFC competition from 2014 to 2015.

Erosa has been having a tough time lately. He has lost back-to-back outings, falling to Padilla and Alex Caceres via first-round technical knockout in his last two UFC appearances. Before this, “Juicy J” had been victorious in five of six promotional outings.

Ramos has had a mixed run in the promotion since 2020, with a 2-3 record. In his lone appearance of 2023, the Brazilian was submitted by Charles Jourdain in the opening stanza at UFC Fight Night 228 on Sept 23.

Padilla had a three-bout winning streak snapped in his last outing. He fell to Kyle Nelson via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 227.

Finally, Pajuelo will be making his Octagon debut. He earned a UFC contract with a first-round stoppage of Robbie Ring on Dana White’s Contender Series this past August.
