Dominick Reyes Cleared of Blood Clots, Set for UFC Comeback

Dominick Reyes, once a challenger for the UFC light heavyweight title, is making a comeback. He’s been off the radar due to a potentially serious health scare. But now, he’s got the green light to step back into the octagon. In an Instagram video, Reyes shared some great news. He’s been given a “clean bill of health.” This means he’s ready to fight again, and soon.

“The Devastator” had a scary moment with blood clots in his leg. It was serious enough to pause his plans to fight Carlos Ulberg at UFC on ESPN 54. But that’s in the past now. “Hey everyone, I just got out of my appointment at Victor Valley Imaging and I got a clean bill of health. No evidence of deep vein thrombosis anymore. I’m pretty excited,” he said. He’s almost done with his blood thinners. Then, he’s 100% ready to jump back into action. Reyes also took a moment to thank everyone for their support. “Thank you, everybody, for the kind words, the love, and reaching out and everything. Time to get back at it, baby. I’m ready to go.”

Reyes is known for almost dethroning Jon Jones at UFC 247. However, he’s hit a rough patch with four consecutive losses in the Octagon. His last fight was a first-round KO loss to Ryan Spann at UFC 281 in November 2022. Despite this, Reyes started his professional career with an impressive 12 straight wins, including six in the UFC. Now, with his health issues behind him, he’s looking to get back to his winning ways.

Oh, and there’s this Instagram post he shared. It’s got all the feels and details about his journey back to fighting shape. Check it out if you’ve got a minute. It’s a real insight into the fighter’s life and his road to recovery.
