Fighter Dan Hooker has withdrawn from his forthcoming duel against Bobby Green, as the fight night is fewer than 10 days away. Hooker was set to duel Green in the significant undercard event at UFC on ESPN 52, slated to take place at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas on Dec. 2. However, a reported arm injury forced “The Hangman” to withdraw from the match up. Multiple news sources have confirmed the announcement, and a substitute rival for Green is being sought.
Earlier in the year, Hooker withdrew from another match against Jalin Turner at UFC 285 in March because of a broken hand. Although he later emerged victorious over Turner at UFC 290, he fractured his arm during the match. Similar injuries have necessitated that Hooker bow out of the UFC Austin. He shared his thoughts about the situation with the New Zealand Herald, “I’ve been kicked a thousand times in the last two months, and he just got me in the right spot. It’s broken in the same spot as I broke it last time.”
Elaborating further, Hooker admitted that he didn’t give his arm sufficient time to recover before he resumed his training program. He thinks that one more month of weight lifting could have facilitated proper healing. But, he hustled back to the training camp, which took a toll on his body due to its lack of complete recovery. Simultaneously, despite the recent drawbacks, Hooker flaunts a two-match victory sequence with triumphs over Turner and Claudio Puelles. In comparison, Green holds an unbeaten record in his last three matches, including a massive 33-second KO against Grant Dawson in a prime-event match.
