Jean Silva Claims ‘Alter Ego’ Dominated During UFC Debut Walkout

Jean Silva, a name you might recognize. He’s a fighter who’s made a name for himself, but there’s one thing he can’t quite put into words. It’s his walkout for his Ultimate Fighting Championship debut. He’s tried to explain it, but words just don’t do it justice.

You might’ve seen it. Silva made his first promotional appearance at UFC Fight Night 234. He was up against Westin Wilson. The Brazilian fighter sure knows how to make an entrance. From his walkout to his victory celebration, he had everyone’s attention.

He’s got this persona, see. Calls himself “Lord Assassin”. His walkout? It took him three minutes and 40 seconds. All the while, he was staring into the camera. Cold. Intense. His time in the Octagon wasn’t much longer. He dominated, earning a stoppage win at the 4:12 mark of Round 1. Then, he celebrated. Not just any celebration, mind you. He barked.

Yeah, you heard right. Barked.

Silva says it’s his alter ego, “Lord Assassin,” who takes over during his extended walkout. “I’m going to apologize for not knowing how to answer this,” Silva said in a post-fight scrum. He’s said it before, it’s another person, someone else. He’s given a name to his alter ego, that’s why ‘Lord Assassin’ came about like it’s another person. That’s why he has to apologize because he wouldn’t know how to answer what happens in the walkout.

It’s not just in the ring, though. This alter ego, it appears outside of his fighting career too. But Silva’s got it under control, thanks to his wife. “I know it’s funny sometimes,” he said. “That person has come about in different situations and shown up. And I have to give credit to my wife, Carol. She knows when he’s approaching, and she knows how to control that and to move on and focus. I’ve learned how to control it to a point so that it only shows up for work.”
