Kevin Holland has something to say about Michael Page’s potential career moves. He’d rather see Page on the Ultimate Fighting Championship roster. But, he’s not about to throw shade at “Venom” if he decides to sign up with the Professional Fighters League.
The Bellator veteran, Page, has been in the spotlight since declaring his free agency in July. He was then seen at UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi in October. Dana White, the big boss himself, confirmed there was mutual interest between the fighter and the promotion.
However, Page didn’t completely shut down the possibility of joining the PFL. MVP was recently spotted at PFL Europe 4 in Dublin. He squared off with French star Cedric Doumbe, which sparked rumors of a potential deal.
Holland has his own take on the situation. He believes if Page signs with the PFL, it’s more about the money than the legacy. But, the “Trailblazer” can’t really fault Page for putting the cash first. After all, it’s all about prizefighting.
Holland shared his thoughts on social media. “If Michael ‘Venom’ Page signs with the PFL, that’s a money move not a legacy move,” he said. He admitted it’s hard to be mad at him. But as a fight fan, he’d prefer to see the exciting fights in the UFC rather than the quick highlights and money grabs at PFL. He gave props to Page for caring more about his chin and his pockets than his legacy.
He even tweeted about it. “Will the real MVP please stand up,” he wrote, adding a picture for emphasis.
