Oh boy, get ready for a sizzler in the flyweight division this April. The Ultimate Fighting Championship is rolling out the red carpet for a clash that’s got everyone buzzing.
MMA Mania spilled the beans first on Thursday night. They’ve got the scoop that Matheus Nicolau and Manel Kape are gearing up for a rematch. It’s all going down on April 27, folks.
This isn’t just any fight. It’s the main event at UFC on ESPN 55, set against the neon backdrop of Las Vegas at the UFC Apex. Talk about a rematch with a backstory – these two were supposed to throw down in January, but fate had other plans. Now, it’s confirmed.

Rewind to their first tango in 2021. Nicolau barely edged out Kape by a split decision so tight, every media scorer thought Kape had it in the bag. They were set for a round two at UFC Fight Night 234, but Kape missed weight. Nicolau wasn’t having any of it.
Nicolau’s been on a tear, stacking wins and climbing the ranks. That is until Brandon Royval stopped him dead with a knee and elbows combo. It was Nicolau’s first loss since 2018, snapping a hot streak that had everyone talking.
Meanwhile, Kape, aka “Starboy,” has been on a rampage. He’s knocked out Ode Osbourne and Zhalgas Zhumagulov, among others. Despite fighting just once a year lately, Kape’s finish rate is through the roof at 84%.
April 27th is the date. UFC Apex in Vegas is the place. Nicolau vs. Kape 2 is the showdown. And that’s not all – there’s more action lined up, including Joel Alvarez vs. Mateusz Rebecki and Karine Silva vs. Ariane Lipski. Stay tuned, fight fans. This one’s gonna be epic.
