Well, well, well. Look who’s stepping into the ring. A flyweight duel between Nathan Maness and the unbeaten Kazakhstani hotshot, Azat Maksum. It’s all set for UFC Fight Night 235 next year.
Oh, and guess what? It was Maksum’s management, Underdog Management, who first spilled the beans on social media. Maksum himself shared the news too.
Now, let’s talk about Maness. He started his UFC career with a bang, racking up three straight wins. But, the Kentucky lad’s had a bit of a rough patch recently. He’s 1-2 in his last three fights, losing to Tagir Ulanbekov and Umar Nurmagomedov.
Still, Maness isn’t one to stay down. He’s fresh off a Round 1 technical knockout win against Mateus Mendonca at UFC Fight Night 229. That win helped him shake off his two-fight losing streak.
On the other side, we’ve got Maksum. The undefeated Kazakhstani prospect just scored a split-decision win against UFC veteran Tyson Nam at UFC on ESPN 49. This former Octagon Promotion flyweight champ boasts a perfect 17-0 career record, including 12 wins inside the distance.
And the location? UFC Fight Night 235 is going down at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas on Feb. 3. The main event? A middleweight showdown between Roman Dolidze and Nassourdine Imavov. Plus, Molly McCann will face off against Diana Belbita on the same card.
So, mark your calendars, folks. It’s going to be a night to remember.
