Paul Felder, a name known to many in the world of UFC, is mulling over a return. He’s got his eye on the Octagon for a face-off against Jim Miller at UFC 300.
Miller recently showcased his skills with a submission win over Gabriel Benitez. This happened at UFC Fight Night 234. The 40-year-old veteran fighter, with this latest victory, has set new records. He now holds the record for the most fights (43) and wins (26) in UFC history.
Miller’s not just about setting records, though. He’s got his sights set on UFC 300. He’s already notched wins at UFC 100 and UFC 200, so this would complete his trifecta.
After his recent win, Miller reiterated his desire for a spot on the UFC 300 card. He’s got his eyes on Felder and Matt Brown as potential opponents.
“UFC 300 is coming up,” Miller said. He’s got three months to heal up, stay in shape, and stay ready. He thinks a fight with Felder would be fun. He’s also open to fighting Matt Brown, the guy with the most knockouts in UFC history.
Felder, who was on commentary duty at the time, responded to Miller’s callout. He’s interested in the matchup. Felder, who retired in November 2020, is now considering a comeback for a legendary fight.
Felder has spoken about this possibility with Miller before. Miller asked for a commentary gig in return, and Felder thinks “A-10” will likely get an audition.
Felder has been struggling with his decision to stay retired. He’s been exploring other interests like acting and triathlons. But, he knows that a potential UFC 300 fight against Miller ultimately depends on the UFC.
“It’s also up to the UFC too,” he said. He hasn’t pressed the issue yet. He’s also aware that the UFC might want to test him out and see if he’s serious.
Felder claims to be in the best shape of his adult life. He’s definitely considering the possibility. “It’s definitely a possibility,” he said. He plans to go home, have a fun night, and then get back into training. He’s in phenomenal shape, he just hasn’t been fighting.
