Pereira vs. Oleksiejczuk, Despaigne vs. Parisian Joins UFC 299 Miami Lineup

So, it’s official. The lineup for UFC 299 seems to be all set. The Las Vegas-based promotion recently confirmed the 13-bout card.

A couple of new matches were announced on Tuesday. Michel Pereira will be up against Michal Oleksiejczuk in the middleweight category. Meanwhile, Robelis Despaigne will face Josh Parisian in the heavyweight division.

The event, UFC 299, is scheduled for March 9. It’ll be held at the Kaseya Center in Miami. The main event? A bantamweight championship clash between Sean O’Malley and Marlon Vera.

Pereira is on a roll right now. He’s currently enjoying a six-fight winning streak in UFC. Most of his victories happened at 170 pounds. But, he recently made a successful transition to middleweight. He defeated Andre Petroski in just 66 seconds in his last outing at UFC Fight Night 230 on Oct. 14.

Then there’s Oleksiejczuk. This guy from Poland has won three of his last four Octagon appearances. All of them were first-round knockouts or technical knockouts. His most recent victory was against Chidi Njokuani at UFC Fight Night 225 on Aug. 26. He stopped Njokuani 4:16 into the first round.

Despaigne is a new signee with the UFC. He came on board after a four-second knockout win against Miles Banks at Fury FC 84 on Dec. 3. He’s an Olympic taekwondo bronze medalist and has finished all four of his professional opponents within a round.

Parisian, on the other hand, has a 2-4 record in the UFC. He earned a promotional deal on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2020. But he’s coming off a disappointing 0-2 campaign in 2023. He lost to Jamal Pogues via decision and Martin Buday via first-round submission.
