Randy Brown Warns Michael Chiesa Against Resting on Past Laurels

Oh boy, Randy Brown really knocked it out of the park at UFC Fight Night 235. I mean, talk about a dream finish.

He tagged Muslim Salikhov with a double jab and then, bam, a right hand that sent Salikhov to the mat. Just like that, 3:17 into Round 1, and it was lights out in their welterweight bout. Vegas must’ve been buzzing that night.

Brown was stoked, to say the least. In a backstage chat, he couldn’t hide his excitement. “One hitter quitter on a striker like that, it means a lot,” he gushed. You could tell, this win was special for him.

But, there was a bit of a hiccup. The ref, Kerry Hatley, kinda hesitated when Salikhov hit the deck. Brown had to throw one more punch, which he really didn’t want to do. “I didn’t want to hit him again. I really didn’t,” he admitted. It was a weird moment, for sure.

Since 2021, Brown’s been on a tear, winning six out of seven fights. Yet, he’s still chasing that big win to cement his place among the welterweight elite. “It’s breaking into the Top 10 and working my way up,” he said, eyes on the prize.

He’s eyeing a fight with Neil Magny or Michael Chiesa next. Either matchup would be fire, honestly. Brown’s game plan? Keep dominating, one step at a time.

Speaking of Chiesa, Brown’s got some words. Chiesa’s been on a bit of a losing streak, and Brown’s itching for a fight. They’ve talked about throwing down before, but it’s never happened. Brown’s message is clear: “Fight somebody.” And he believes he’s just the guy to take on Chiesa.

So, there you have it. Brown’s looking to climb the ranks, and he’s not shy about calling out his next target. Vegas, get ready. This is gonna be good.
