Sean Strickland Tells Jon Jones to Fight Aspinall, Suggests McGregor Should Retire

Oh boy, where do we start? Sean Strickland, that former UFC middleweight champ, had some choice words about Jon Jones and Conor McGregor. And let me tell ya, he didn’t hold back.

So, Jon Jones, right? He’s been out of the game for a bit, nursing himself back to health after surgery. There’s no telling when he’ll be back to defend his heavyweight title. Despite Tom Aspinall throwing shade his way, Jones seems set to square off against Stipe Miocic. Interesting, considering Miocic’s been off the radar since 2021.

Now, about that awkward moment between Jones and Aspinall at the Arnold Sports Festival in England. Picture this: Aspinall reaches out, Jones is having none of it, and just like that, no photo op. Awkward with a capital A.

Strickland? He didn’t catch this cringe-fest. But it’s clear he’s not Jones’ biggest fan. “Eh, you know, at the end of the day, dude, Jon Jones is a piece of sh*t,” he spills to the Schmo. His advice to Jones? Man up, fight Aspinall, and get it over with.

Switching gears to Conor McGregor. The guy’s been MIA since that leg break in the trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier back in July 2021. He dipped his toes back into the UFC’s drug testing pool last October, but there’s been some static on the line with the UFC brass. McGregor’s been vocal about his frustration, especially when it comes to setting up fights with Poirier and Nate Diaz.

But here’s the kicker: Strickland’s not exactly on the edge of his seat for McGregor’s comeback. “I don’t know, man. Do we really care about Conor McGregor these days?” he questions. According to him, McGregor’s just a “juiced-out, roided-out guy” who might as well sail off into the sunset on his yacht.

So, there you have it. Strickland’s not mincing words when it comes to Jones and McGregor. In the world of MMA, it’s clear that not everyone’s a fan.
