Jiri Prochazka and Alex Pereira are set to go head-to-head for the vacant Ultimate Fighting Championship light heavyweight title in the UFC 295. The much-anticipated event is scheduled for Saturday at Madison Square Garden in New York. Additionally, Sergei Pavlovich and Tom Aspinall are up for the interim heavyweight title in the five-round co-main event. As the UFC 295 “Prochazka vs. Pereira” is fast approaching, there are some interesting numbers associated with the fighters on the bill.
Prochazka boasts 25 wins, all by technical knockouts, making up 86% of his career total of 29 victories. His UFC victims have so far included Dominick Reyes and Volkan Oezdemir. Pereira, on the other hand, spent 147 days as the undisputed UFC middleweight champion. He clinched this coveted title at UFC 281 on Nov. 12, 2022, but had to let it go at UFC 287 on April 8, 2023. In terms of reign duration in the division’s history, Pereira comes fourth, preceded by Evan Tanner’s 119 days reign, Dave Menne’s 105 days reign, and Georges St. Pierre’s 33-day reign.
Over in the ring, Pavlovich has landed 73 significant strikes more than his seven UFC opponents. Notably, while the former Fight Nights Global champion absorbed only 72 of them in return, he connected with a whopping 145 strikes. Aspinall, after his seven UFC assignments, banked 250,000 dollars in post-fight bonuses. Astonishingly, he was honored with “Performance of the Night” five times.
Mackenzie Dern, an experienced professional mixed martial artist, started 42 rounds and won a gold medal at the 2015 Abu Dhabi Combat Club Submission Fighting World Championship. Currently targeting Jessica Andrade in a three-round women’s strawweight showcase, she has gone the distance on nine different occasions and has a 6-3 record in these bouts. On another note, Andrade has landed 996 total strikes at UFC women’s strawweight, positioning herself eighth on the promotion’s all-time list at 115 pounds.
