Guess what? The whispers were true. The Ultimate Fighting Championship is making a grand return to Manchester, England. That’s right. The big reveal happened this Wednesday. UFC 304’s gonna light up the Co-op Live on July 27. And guess what? It’s the U.K.’s biggest arena. This event? It’s making history as the venue’s first-ever sporting spectacle.
Dana White, the big boss at UFC, can barely contain his excitement. “Manchester, we’ve missed you. And what a time to come back – this summer,” he said. With two U.K. champs itching for action, the fans were practically begging for a UFC pay-per-view event. “So, we’re bringing it to the largest indoor arena in the U.K. England, we’re coming.”
While the fight card’s still under wraps, the rumor mill’s buzzing. Welterweight champ Leon Edwards and interim heavyweight titan Tom Aspinall might just grace the event. UFC 304’s set for the usual pay-per-view hours stateside. Prelims kick off at 6 p.m. ET, with the main event starting at 10 p.m. ET. And who else might join? Perhaps Paddy Pimblett, Molly McCann, Michael Page, or Arnold Allen. Just throwing some names out there.
It’s been a minute since UFC hit Manchester – since UFC 204 in October 2016, to be exact. Remember when Michael Bisping defended his middleweight title against Dan Henderson? Yeah, that was something.
