Several amendments have been made to UFC Fight Night 232 less than a week before Saturday’s event. One of the most significant changes centers around Christian Leroy Duncan, who was set to face Brazilian newcomer Cesar Almeida. Almeida, who was looking to build on his undefeated start in the world of professional fighting, has had to withdraw from the event due to an infection. In his place, Russian fighter Denis Tiuliulin has been chosen to face Duncan in the Octagon.
In his last professional bout, Duncan suffered the first loss of his career via unanimous decision against Armen Petrosyan. Despite this, the former Cage Warriors middleweight champ is eager to return to the win column, as he gears up to face Tiuliulin. Tiuliulin will be seeking redemption after experiencing a two-fight losing streak, contributing to a 1-3 official record thus far. The news of this change in the cage was initially announced by Vestnik MMA on Instagram before being corroborated by multiple outlets.
In another twist, Jonny Parsons has pulled out from his scheduled welterweight bout against Uros Medic due to undisclosed reasons. Mkytybek Orolbai of Kyrgyzstan will fill in for Parsons, and he may consider himself fortunate to make his UFC debut on less than a week’s notice. This switch in the lineup was first made public by Orolbai’s team.
Orolbai recently impressed with a dazzling one-punch knockout win over Hayward Charles in October. Formerly a star of the Legacy Fighting Alliance, Orolbai is currently riding a wave of success following a six-fight knockout streak. Meanwhile, his upcoming opponent Medic is also on a winning streak, having clinched back-to-back victories over Omar Morales and Matthew Semelsberger.
