Umar Nurmagomedov vs Bekzat Almakhan at UFC Fight Night 238

Oh boy, here we go. Umar Nurmagomedov is about to roll out the welcome mat. But not for a housewarming party. Nope. He’s welcoming Bekzat Almakhan to the big leagues, the UFC Octagon, at UFC Fight Night 238.

Now, where did I hear that? Ah, yes. A bunch of sites started buzzing about it after Frontkicked dropped the news. This showdown’s going down on March 2. And guess where? The UFC Apex in Las Vegas. But that’s not all that’s cooking that night. We’ve got a heavyweight clash that’s sure to shake the rafters – Jairzinho Rozenstruik vs. Shamil Gaziev.

It’s been a hot minute since we saw Nurmagomedov in action. Last January, to be exact. He sent Raoni Barcelos packing with a first-round KO. Impressive, right? The guy’s 28, fights for Eagles MMA, and was all set to throw down with Cory Sandhagen in Nashville last August. But, life happens. An injury benched him. And according to his manager, Ali Abdelaziz, finding someone to square up with Nurmagomedov is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Dude’s undefeated in 16 pro fights, with four of those wins in the UFC.

On the flip side, we’ve got Almakhan. He’s no slouch either. Out of 15 fights, he’s claimed victory 14 times and is riding an eight-fight win streak. Plus, he’s only 26 and hails from Kazakhstan. Almost all of his wins? He finished them before the final bell. Talk about making a statement.

So, there you have it. March 2nd. Mark your calendars. This is going to be one for the books.
