Undefeated French Prospect Oumar Sy to Make UFC Debut vs Rodolfo Bellato in May

Oh, boy, here we go. French light heavyweight champ, Oumar Sy, is stepping up to the big leagues. He’s facing off against Rodolfo Bellato this May. Talk about a debut!

Advertisement break – because, why not?

So, Sy’s record? Undefeated at 9-0. And he’s about to throw down in the Ultimate Fighting Championship ring against Bellato, who’s not exactly a pushover at 12-2. This clash is happening at UFC Fight Night 241 on May 18, right in the heart of Las Vegas at the Apex. Marcel Dorff of Eurosports_Nl spilled the beans first, and then Sy gave us the nod on X (you know, the artist formerly known as Twitter).

Let’s rewind a bit. Sy inked his UFC deal last October, almost seven months back. The guy’s a knockout artist with seven stoppage wins out of nine. Last seen in action in June 2023, he made quick work of Ildemar Alcantara at King of Fighters 1. Stopped him in the first round, no less.

Now, Bellato. This guy’s on a hot streak with four straight wins, three by way of finishing his opponents. He tried his luck in Dana White’s Contender Series back in 2022 but hit a roadblock named Vitor Petrino. Despite that, Bellato bounced back, tearing through the Legacy Fighting Alliance and earning another shot at the DWCS. There, he secured his UFC ticket by knocking out Murtaza Talha Ali. His UFC debut? A knockout win against Ihor Potieria at UFC Austin last December.

Whew, that’s a mouthful. And yeah, I might’ve thrown in a bit more flair than necessary. But hey, that’s the fight game for you—unpredictable, thrilling, and always keeping you on your toes. Can’t wait to see how this one unfolds.
